Choose your hard
We often hear about "easy" transformations. We may even have the expectation that this journey will be easy if on a GLP-1. But the reality is that meaningful change, all meaningful change, requires us to step outside our comfort zones. When we decide to eat more protein than carbs or forgo the nightly ice cream, to move our bodies regularly, or to prioritize sleep over late-night scrolling, we're asking ourselves to feel uncomfortable for a while.
But here's what I've learned and you've heard me say it before: you get to choose your hard. It's hard to feel the temporary discomfort of breaking old patterns. But it's also hard to stay stuck in habits that don't serve you, carrying the weight of unfulfilled goals and the frustration of feeling disconnected from the person you want to become.
It's hard to say no when you're used to eating for comfort. But it's also hard to live with the physical and emotional heaviness that comes from consistently eating past satisfaction and not reaching your goals.
It's hard to get up early for that workout when your bed feels so cozy. But it's also hard to move through your day feeling sluggish and disappointed in yourself.
The discomfort of growth is temporary and leads somewhere meaningful. The discomfort of staying the same is ongoing and keeps you exactly where you are.
This week, when you feel that resistance creeping in, and you will, remember that you're not avoiding hard. You're simply choosing which hard serves your future self better.
What "hard" are you choosing this week? Share below, I'd love to support you in that choice.
